The Top 5 Leaders in Home and Lifestyle Blogs

Sharing is caring!

Have you read these blogs? They’re some of my favorites because their ideas really resonate with me. I like to learn how to manage my time, save money and live better. See if you agree that their content can help do all those things.

Leader #1: Living Well Spending Less

Ruth Soukup has tons of information on her site to help you manage your home and save money. She’s great at helping you learn to set goals and reach them. She uses abbreviations in a lot of her posts to help you remember things…for example, in her post about crushing your goals, she uses the letters for Crush It (C-R-U-S-H I-T) to help you remember each step. That helps break it down and make it easy to understand and actually put it into practice.

She has some great advice on how to organize and declutter, how to get your budget under control, and how to be more productive, among other things. Her posts are concise and well-written, and she has real-life suggestions that you can actually put into practice. I love to browse all the different categories because I always find something interesting and useful.

You can find the site here.

Leader #2: Money Talks News

Money Talks News was founded by CPA Stacy Johnson back in 1991, even before most of us had even heard of the internet. He started out distributing personal finance information to TV networks – which he still does today – but now his website and newsletter are probably more well-known.

His site is a mix of light reading on daily subjects (for example, 21 Things You Should Always Buy at a Dollar Store) to retirement finances (seeThe Biggest Social Security Mistake You’re Likely to Make). A lot of the posts are written by guest authors, but he does have his own articles, podcasts and videos. His series “2-Minute Money Manager” features a short video answering money questions submitted by readers and viewers. (Or if you prefer, you can read a transcript instead of watching the video.)

They have a newsletter (twice daily) with links to their posts, so you can always catch the latest articles. There’s usually something that catches my eye and makes me click through. I’ve also used the site to research credit cards; you can find one with the best signup bonus, the best rewards, etc. The articles written by Stacy himself are very informative, and his advice is down-to-earth. He’s the type of guy who buys a reliable car (pre-owned, of course) for a good price instead of something extravagant to impress everyone else. So his financial advice makes sense.

Leader #3: The Busy Budgeter

Rosemarie Groner is one of my favorites because her advice is simple and takes things one step at a time. She teaches people to get out of living paycheck-to-paycheck and save money. Her posts teach you how to stop impulse purchases, ask for discounts, pay off debt, save money on groceries, and more.

But her blog doesn’t just deal with budgeting, it has a little bit of everything for your home. She teaches that once you get other things organized, it’s easier to get your spending under control, too. Plus she has quick, affordable meals that can save you time and stress (from not having to think about what to make!).

One of her most helpful tips is to stop doing things that don’t matter, or saying no to things that aren’t important to you. Some of the things we think we have to do really are not essential, and no one will notice if you stop doing them. This can free up time for things that really do matter, including some time for yourself. This has helped me streamline my laundry routine, and her reward system helps me almost look forward to it!

She tells her own story of how she got organized and got her finances in order to inspire her readers to finally do the same. You’ll love her site; click here to see for yourself.

Leader #4: Healthline

This site is actually not an individual blogger but a team of medical professionals providing information and advice on a variety of health-related topics. Their articles cover an extensive list of conditions, in addition to wellness.

I especially like their gluten-free information. I have found it to be comprehensive and accurate. I’ve used it while I’m in the grocery store to research a particular food or brand. They also have gluten-free, low-carb, and anti-inflammatory recipes, among others.

The mental health section has timely articles on subjects related to COVID-19, such as loneliness, stress and anxiety, exercise, and working from home. They also have a live updates page on the virus.

You can check out the site here.

Leader #5: Just a Girl and her Blog by Abby Lawson

Abby Lawson’s blog focuses on organizing, decorating, and blogging. In her own words, she’s passionate about creating a beautiful, thriving home, life, and business and helping others to do the same.

In her Home Organization section, she has free printable calendars every month with different options (week starting on Sunday or Monday, with or without dates), how to organize different rooms (or even areas of a room, like a nightstand), and how to organize digital photos. She has beautiful, clear photos on her posts showing exactly how she’s organized rooms in her own house, which is a great source of inspiration.

Looking for simple, affordable decorating ideas? Her posts cover everything from choosing paint colors and DIY projects to tours and reveals of her own home decorating projects. I really like her clean lines and tranquil color scheme. And she gives sources/shopping in her post, so you can shop for the very same items she used in her projects.

Check out her website here.

Conclusion

As you can see from these great influencers, there is a lot of great information on organizing your home, managing your finances, healthy eating and saving money. Each has a little different focus and perspective, so they can all help in different ways.

I invite you to check them out and let me know what you especially like about them. Who are your favorites that you’d put on your list of leaders? Share your comments below!
